Solid wood

What happens when we look at art?
To me, art is something that stops the humming of thoughts in my brain, and lets emotion take over. I’m fully engaged in the moment, letting ideas and feelings float and drift, let my soul connect.
“All art is erotic”, said Gustav Klimt, the great Austrian artist. What did he mean by that? Perhaps, he meant that art is driven by passion. Passion for creation, for self-expression, for a fresh perspective. At our greatest, we are fueled by passion, driven by desire to create something that will outlast us, motivated by our quest for meaning and purpose.
And if passion is our fuel, it also makes sense that it would lead to eroticism, as our appetite for bodily pleasures is tightly connected with procreation. Our children, after all, are usually our most wonderful, long lasting achievements.
And looking at this wonderful piece of wood, I felt an instant connection to Klimt’s timeless words of wisdom. Its curves are so feminine, and dare I say …
sexy. This art-passion-erotic connection is wonderfully embodied in this uniquely shaped article.
For me, it stands as a great reminder of not letting our inner chatter drown what really makes us tick, our mission, our purpose, our passion.
