What are we waiting for?
Most of us are waiting for the right moment, for the perfect conditions to occur.
Yet, in reality, we just don’t want to take action; perhaps this is because we fear of failing.
Or alternatively, we give a feeble attempt, trying and making an effort once or twice for the sake of appearances—so no one will blame us for not trying.
We long for things to be easy. We long for them to run like clockwork, to run smoothly, as we don’t appreciate the snags and hitches of life.
Tony Robbins’s teaching, the inspiration for this piece of art, states that “the path to success is to take determined, massive action.”
This means that we don’t stop because things are challenging or less than perfect.
That’s why it was important for me to leave the marks bugs created in the wood just as they are. “Weather-beaten” marks are now filled with reinforced concrete, as if to say: we embrace our imperfections.
The “barred window” in the concrete makes it possible to reveal our true nature; our spirit is profoundly powerful, as are those metal bars hidden inside.
It hints at the inner work done in us by overcoming challenges and becoming resilient. Industrial-grade solid metal casters allow the slab to rest on these for action-driven elements, and go wherever directed, focusing everything we’ve got on achieving our goal.
So now, what are you waiting for?
